The idea of codcasts came to me while listening to the netcast of TWIT (http://www.twit.tv/)
I listen to about a dozen different podcasts, but I was havng a hard time staying on the road and switching between podcasts. I mean, if I want to get caught up with The Economist (http://www.economist.com/) 's casts of 5-7 minute shots, I should be able to go to the podcast folder and play should just play them all one after another. But, they don't.
So I got smart. I created a playlist in iTunes (http://www.itunes.com/) which includes podcasts. When I play the playlist, it plays each podcast one right after the other and my hands are free to be on the wheel or on my dinner, ahem.
But it gets better, not only do I get continuous podcasts, but I get them shuffled in nice ways so that the end result is I have my own personal BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/?ok) with diverse, eclectic and mainstream content. For example, I get the KEXP (http://www.kexp.org/) song of the day interspersed between tech news and sports talk and my prefontal cortex is suitably massaged.
So, what are the settings for my CODCASTS? Stay tuned...
